MortgageCalcTool is designed so that using it requires giving up as little information as possible. There is no account, no sign-up and no lead form anywhere on this site.

Information you enter

Everything you type into a calculator — purchase price, down payment, rate, term, taxes, insurance, HOA dues — is processed entirely in your own browser using JavaScript. Those values are never transmitted to our servers, never written to a database and never shared with any third party. Closing the tab discards them.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider records standard server log data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running, and is retained only for a short period.

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are read and where people leave. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals.

Cookies and advertising

We intend to show display advertising to fund the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent notice before any non-essential cookies are set, and advertising is limited to non-personalised ads where consent is not given.

What we never do

• We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, address or Social Security number.
• We do not pull, store or infer your credit score.
• We do not sell, rent or broker mortgage leads to lenders.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data a site holds about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because we do not collect personal information through this site, in most cases there is nothing for us to return or delete — but you can still make a request, and we will respond. Changes to this policy

If our data practices change — for example when advertising goes live — we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
